Gamma-Butyrolactone
Colorless transparent liquid with a faint characteristic odor. It has good miscibility with water, alcohols, esters, and most organic solvents. GBL is a stable compound under normal conditions, but it can react with strong acids, bases, and some reducing agents.

Solvency
As a polar aprotic solvent, GBL has excellent solvency for a wide range of substances, including polymers, resins, and many organic compounds. It can dissolve materials such as polyvinyl chloride, polyamide, and cellulose derivatives effectively, making it an important solvent in various industrial processes.
Reactivity
