PVPK30 and PVPK90 (polyvinyl pyrrolidone, povidone) are both homopolymers, usually water-soluble white powder or colorless transparent liquid, which are polymerized from N-vinyl pyrrolidone (NVP) monomers. The difference between the two is that the molecular weight and viscosity are different. The larger the molecular weight, the greater the viscosity. The molecular weight of PVPK30 is about 40,000, while the molecular weight of PVPK90 is about 1.3 million, and its molecular weight distribution curve is relatively wide. Homopolymers usually use K values to represent different molecular weights. The higher the K value, the higher the molecular weight. The K value range of PVPK30 is 27-32, and the K value range of PVPK90 is 85-97. After PVPK30 is dissolved, the appearance is relatively thin and the fluidity is relatively good, while PVPK90 has high viscosity and poor fluidity after dissolution. According to different product indicators, it is divided into industrial grade, pharmaceutical grade and other grades. It is widely used as an adhesive, thickener, film-forming agent, dispersant, leveling agent, detergent, and anti-fouling agent in printing and dyeing, medicine, daily chemicals, ink coatings and other industries.
