PVP was first used in drug production in my country in the 1980s. In 1985, Zhejiang Research Institute of Chemical Industry and Hangzhou Minsheng Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. jointly developed a new type of disinfectant PVP-I with PVP as the main ingredient. Later, some manufacturers began to use it.
Vinylpyrrolidone Polymerization9003-39-8 (CAS 9003-39-8) utilizes free-radical polymerization of N-vinylpyrrolidone (NVP). Initiators: AIBN/KPS @ 60–80°C. Controls K-value (12–120) via chain transfer agents. Final product: water-soluble PVP polymer.
