(1)It is widely used in aromatic hydrocarbon extraction, purification of acetylene, olefins and diolefins, and is also used in the solvent of polymers and the medium of polymerization reaction, such as engineering plastics and aramid fibers. In addition, it can also be used in pesticides, pharmaceuticals and detergents.
(2)The main uses of NMP in the petrochemical industry are as follows:
1.Extraction and recovery of basic organic raw materials. It can be used as a solvent for the recovery of acetylene from natural gas or light naphtha pyrolysis gas with a purity of 99.7% for the recovery of concentrated acetylene, as an extractant for the separation and recovery of high-purity butadiene from cracked C4 hydrocarbons with a recovery rate of 97% and a purity of 99.7% for the recovery of butadiene, as an extractant for the recovery of high-purity isoprene from cracked C5 hydrocarbons with a recovery purity of 99% for isoprene, and as an aromatic extractant extractant due to its high solubility and low vapor pressure for aromatic hydrocarbons, the extractant loss rate in the process is low.
2.Lubricating oil refining. It is used to extract aromatic hydrocarbons in lubricating oil to achieve the purpose of refining lubricating oil, and
3.Used as a solvent for polymer and polymerization reaction. For example, the production of polyphenylene sulfide and aramid, polyimide, polyamide, polyurethane and other polymers polymer solvents;
4.As a solvent for resin processing can be used to manufacture coatings, floor paints, varnishes, composite coatings, integrated circuit enameled wire insulation materials, fiber fabrics and adhesives and other products;

(3)The main uses of NMP in the electronics industry are as follows:
1.NMP is used as a solvent for polyvinylidene fluoride and electrode auxiliary materials for lithium-ion batteries; (2) it can be used for photoresist removal and LCD liquid crystal material production; (3) it is used as a solvent for pharmaceutical production; (4) it is used for the cleaning of precision instruments and circuit boards in the semiconductor industry.
